Score Submission

Anonymous submission preparation: remove or blank out anything in the score and other submitted media which identifies you as the composer. Check authorship, copyright notices, logos, program notes, performance notes, and so forth. Scores or sound files with identifying information will not be considered.

Submit the following through the submission form on the NewMusicEngine.org website, along with required information such as title, creator name, duration, and voicing (note voicing in the “Instrumentation description” field). You will be prompted to login or create a new account on the  New Music Engine website when you click the Submit button.

Only compositions submitted through the New Music Engine website will be accepted.

  1. Score: Upload your composition in PDF format, including any performance notes. Make sure nothing on the score identifies you as the composer. NOTE: PDF files are limited to 5MB by NewMusicEngine.org.
  2. Audio Recording: Upload a sung recording of your work, if available. A software-generated playback file is acceptable if a sung recording is not available. MP3 format is preferred (WAV format OK). Make sure the audio file name does not contain your name or initials, or performer names if applicable.
  3. Composer statement: Include a statement  in 200 words or less in the text box provided which succinctly and anonymously conveys your artistic intent and approach.
  4. Additional comments: If there is some aspect of your submission you feel needs an additional explanatory note, briefly and anonymously comment in the submission form’s “Additional comments” text box (200 words or less).
  5. Proof of Age: Scan a valid ID (such as a driver’s license) to a JPG file. You may black out the ID number, if you wish. Upload the image file to the submission form’s “Proof of age” box.
