Vivaldi & the Virtuosas of Venice
Our anniversary season culminates with Antonio Vivaldi’s famous ‘Gloria’ (RV 589), performed by the women of IM with chamber orchestra—a rare opportunity to hear this Baroque masterpiece as the composer originally intended. Written for the all-female choir and orchestra of the Ospedale della Pietà, Venice’s renowned orphanage and music school for young women, this jubilant work offers a festive close to IM’s 20th Anniversary.
Honoring that tradition of nurturing young musicians, this concert also features eight participants in our Young Singer Mentorship Program. Selected by audition, these young women ages 16–24 will receive free voice lessons with IM mentor-singers and rehearse and perform in this concert. Through individual mentorship and shared performance, they will become part of this extraordinary musical legacy.
